Collection: Eyepieces

In 2016, during my summer vacation, I wanted to buy sunglasses, and everything I saw in stores was missing an essential feature, environmental awareness. So I had the idea, sustainable and eco-friendly sunglasses, to make buyers more aware of nature. After involving my brother Emanuele in the sunglasses project, we wondered how we could put it into practice? Our father is a carpenter and we were practically born among wood chips, so we thought the first glasses would be made of wood! And so Okulars was born with the support of the first manufacturer who had the right machinery to carry out the project. At this point, we were ready to sell Okulars sunglasses online!

In 2019, sunglasses made from natural cork were introduced, and in 2021, recycled plastic glasses. Despite using sustainable materials, the production of glasses and the care of the area still produced carbon dioxide emissions that we had to offset. That's why in 2020 we partnered with Tree-nation, a non-profit organization that plants trees to offset emissions. In 2022, we started a partnership with ClimatePartner, which calculates companies' emissions to help them reduce and fully offset all emissions.
